Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is a 2022 superhero film and directed by Ryan Coogler. It is the thirtieth film in the Marvel Cinematic Universeand the seventh in Phase IV .

The idea for a sequel to Black Panther dates back to 2018, shortly after the movie was released. The plans will be challenged by the death of actor Chadwick Boseman in 2020, who played the titular character .

Ryan Coogler will once again be at the controls of this sequel, for which the cast will be unchanged except for the late Chadwick Boseman, whom the production has decided not to replace .

Wakanda continues to grow. According to Deadline, Marvel would have recruited Michaela Coel for the second installment of the Black Panther saga. We do not know, however, who she will play.

Very enigmatic, the sequel to Black Panther materializes. While much of the original cast will be returning, Marvel continues to expand Wakanda 's ranks with new recruits. The house of ideas will call on Michaela Coel to embody a character still kept secret. The actress and designer was particularly noticed thanks to the Chewing-Gum series in which she plays a 24-year-old religious woman. She also distinguished herself in the writing of I May Destroy You , unfairly shunned by the Golden Globes.So it's a nice catch for Marvel .

An intrigue still kept secret

Unlike the rest of the House of Ideas productions , the Black Panther sequel is still very mysterious. Since the death of Chadwick Boseman , who embodied the superhero since 2016, the firm has been stingy with details regarding the sequel to Ryan Coogler 's film . It must be said that the disappearance of his interpreter prompted Marvel to completely review the script of the feature film to undoubtedly integrate a new superhero. Will Michaela Coel be the new headliner? We will probably have to wait a little longer to find out. The film, dubbed Wakanda Forever , is due out on our screens on July 6, 2022.

Ryan Coogler will be back behind the camera and writing the script. On screen, we will find Lupita Nyong'o and Danai Gurira respectively in the roles of Nakia and Okoye . Letitia Wright plays T'Challa 's little sister : Shuri . Martin Freeman will again pack his bags for Wakanda since he will lend his features to Everett K. Ross , a CIA agent, for the third time.

Note that for now, Ludwig Göransson is not attached to the project. The composer had however won the Oscar for best film music in 2019 for the first opus. A Hollywood darling, he notably worked on the original soundtrack for the series The Mandalorian .
